The muscle up story
I used to do muscle ups easily. Just jump on the bar and do them.
Then I stopped training. Years went by.
One day I wanted it back. I went to my home bar and tried. Nothing. Not even close. Tried again. And again. My body felt like it forgot how to do it.
I started thinking, am I just weak now? I kept going anyway. More attempts, more soreness, more pain.
And I gave up for the day and went for a run. On the way I passed a fixed pull up bar, bolted down. I stopped and tried, without thinking.
One rep. Two. Three. Ten.
I just stood there confused. Then I got it. My home bar had been swinging the whole time. Only a little, but enough to mess up every attempt.
I wasn't weak. It was the bar.
